  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Cooking spray or a light oil for spraying

Instructions

  1. Wash, peel, and core the apples. Slice into evenly-sized fry shapes, about ¼ inch thick.
  2. In a shallow bowl, mix the flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and sugar. Beat the eggs in a separate bowl. Combine breadcrumbs with vanilla extract in another bowl.
  3. Dip each apple fry into the flour mixture, then into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Lightly spray the basket with cooking spray or brush with oil.
  5. Arrange the coated apple fries in a single layer inside the air fryer basket. Lightly spray the fries with cooking spray.
  6. Air fry for 8-10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until golden and crispy.
