Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups of cooked and mashed potatoes
- 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup of chopped green onions (optional)
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon of paprika (for color and flavor)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup of breadcrumbs (for crunch)
- Cooking spray or olive oil spray
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine mashed potatoes, shredded cheese, Parmesan, green onions, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Add the egg and stir until the mixture is evenly combined.
- Gently fold in the breadcrumbs to help shape the puffs.
- Using your hands or a small scoop, form the mixture into small balls or puffs and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Slightly flatten each for extra crispiness.
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3 minutes.
- Spray the prepared puffs lightly with cooking spray or olive oil spray.
- Arrange puffs in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between them.
- Cook for 10-12 minutes, turning halfway, until golden and crispy.
- Remove and serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces.
Notes
- Chill mashed potatoes before mixing to enhance shaping.
- Incorporate add-ins like jalapeños or cooked bacon for extra flavor.
- Adjust cooking time according to your air fryer model and the size of the puffs.
- If they are not crispy enough, spray with more oil and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
- Use freshly grated cheese for optimal flavor and melt.
