A flavorful and easy-to-make chicken bowl featuring crispy fried chicken coated in a spicy, creamy sauce, topped with fresh scallions and sesame seeds for added crunch and flavor.

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb chicken breast or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups vegetable oil for frying
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • Green scallions, sliced, for garnish
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine cornstarch, salt, and pepper. Toss chicken pieces in the mixture until coated evenly.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat. Fry chicken in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-6 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, soy sauce, and honey to make the sauce.
  4. Toss fried chicken in the sauce until well coated.
  5. Serve the chicken in bowls, garnished with sliced scallions and sesame seeds. Enjoy immediately.

Notes

  • You can adjust the spiciness by increasing or decreasing sriracha.
  • For a healthier version, bake the chicken rather than fry.
  • This dish pairs well with steamed rice or mixed vegetables.
