Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb chicken breast or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups vegetable oil for frying
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
- 1 tablespoon sriracha (adjust to taste)
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon honey
- Green scallions, sliced, for garnish
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine cornstarch, salt, and pepper. Toss chicken pieces in the mixture until coated evenly.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat. Fry chicken in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-6 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, soy sauce, and honey to make the sauce.
- Toss fried chicken in the sauce until well coated.
- Serve the chicken in bowls, garnished with sliced scallions and sesame seeds. Enjoy immediately.
Notes
- You can adjust the spiciness by increasing or decreasing sriracha.
- For a healthier version, bake the chicken rather than fry.
- This dish pairs well with steamed rice or mixed vegetables.
