- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 medium potatoes, sliced thin

Instructions
- Wash and slice the potatoes thinly. Dice the onion and mince the garlic. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and garlic, cooking until fragrant and translucent. Add the ground beef, season with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika, and cook until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Layer the sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish. Spread the cooked beef mixture evenly over the potatoes. Pour the diced tomatoes or tomato sauce over the top, then sprinkle with shredded cheese.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for about 45 minutes or until the potatoes are tender. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes to allow the cheese to melt and turn golden brown.
