- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, sliced into strips
- 8 oz (about 225g) of your favorite pasta (penne, fusilli, or spaghetti)
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon freshly ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for extra heat)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt to taste
- Fresh parsley or green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Start by seasoning the sliced chicken breasts with a pinch of salt and grind some fresh black pepper over them. In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken strips and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook your preferred pasta until al dente according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In the same skillet used for the chicken, add a bit more olive oil if needed. Sauté the minced garlic until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Stir in soy sauce, honey, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened. Add the cooked chicken back into the skillet and toss to coat evenly with the sauce.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss everything together to ensure the pasta is coated with the zesty honey pepper sauce. Heat through for a minute or two, allowing the flavors to meld.
