- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup crushed nuts (pecans or almonds)
- Holiday sprinkles for decoration
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a saucepan, melt butter and stir in brown sugar and salt over medium heat; boil for 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Pour the caramel mixture onto the prepared sheet and spread evenly.
- Allow to cool slightly, then evenly sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Let sit for 5 minutes until melted, then spread with a spatula.
- Sprinkle crushed nuts and holiday sprinkles over the melted chocolate.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours until firm.
- Break into pieces and serve or package for gifts.
Notes
- You can substitute dark chocolate for semi-sweet for a richer flavor.
- Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
