- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet active dry yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
- 1/2 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm milk and let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Add melted butter, egg, and the yeast mixture.
- Mix until a soft dough forms, then knead for about 8 minutes until smooth.
- Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Gently punch down the dough and divide into 8 equal portions. Shape each into a ball and place on a greased baking sheet.
- Let the rolls rise for 20-30 minutes, then bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.

Notes
- This recipe can be prepared the night before. After the first rise, cover and refrigerate. Let it come to room temperature before baking.
- For a sweeter taste, brush the tops with butter and sprinkle with coarse sugar before baking.
