Enjoy the crispy, cinnamon-sugar perfection of Golden Baked Churro Bliss—a healthier twist on traditional fried churros. These baked churro bites are easy to make, irresistibly sweet, and perfect for parties or a delicious snack. Satisfy your sweet tooth with this simple, homemade treat that’s crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 20-25 churro bites

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup granulated sugar (for coating)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Optional: melted chocolate or caramel sauce for dipping

Instructions

  1. Start by heating the water, butter, sugar, and salt in a saucepan over medium heat until it boils.
  2. Add the flour all at once and stir vigorously until a dough forms and pulls away from the sides of the pan. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  3. Beat the eggs and vanilla extract into the warm dough one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition until smooth and slightly sticky.
  4. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Fill a piping bag fitted with a star tip with the churro dough and pipe 3-4 inch strips onto the baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 15-20 minutes, turning halfway through, until golden brown. Let cool slightly.
  6. Mix granulated sugar and cinnamon in a shallow dish. Roll the warm churro bites in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until coated.
  7. Serve immediately with your favorite dips or toppings.

Notes

  • For a crispier texture, reheat in an air fryer before serving.
  • You can substitute eggs with flaxseed mixture or applesauce for an egg-free version.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
