Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
- 2 cups fresh broccoli florets
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch (dissolved in 2 tablespoons water)
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Thinly slice the beef and set aside. Chop the broccoli into bite-sized florets. Mince the garlic cloves and set aside.
- In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), and dissolved cornstarch. Set the sauce aside.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sliced beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of oil. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Add broccoli florets and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until vibrant green and slightly tender.
- Return the beef to the skillet. Pour the honey garlic sauce over the beef and broccoli. Toss to coat evenly and cook for an additional 2 minutes until the sauce thickens.
Notes
- Feel free to enhance the flavor with additional garlic or herbs like Mediterranean seasonings.
- For a gluten-free version, substitute soy sauce with tamari.
- Use lean cuts of beef to make the dish healthier.
