- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup (or cream of chicken)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 package frozen tater tots (about 32 oz.)
- 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables (optional)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook the ground beef or turkey until browned, then add diced onion and minced garlic, cooking until translucent. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika. Drain excess fat.
- In a bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup with half of the shredded cheeses to create the creamy layer.
- In a greased baking dish, spread the cooked meat mixture evenly. Add frozen vegetables if using, then pour the cheese mixture evenly over the top. Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer on top. Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the tater tots.
- Bake uncovered for about 45 minutes, until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy. Broil for an additional 2-3 minutes for extra crispiness if desired.
