- 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
- 4 cups beef or chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 8 lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef or sausage, then transfer to the crockpot.
- Add chopped onion, garlic, crushed tomatoes, broth, basil, and oregano to the crockpot. Stir to combine.
- Cook on low for 6-8 hours.
- Add broken lasagna noodles to the crockpot and cook on high for 20-30 minutes until noodles are tender.
- Serve hot, topped with shredded mozzarella, Parmesan, and fresh basil.
Notes
- You can substitute ground chicken or turkey for a leaner option.
- Add a splash of red wine for extra depth of flavor.
- Use gluten-free noodles to make it gluten-free.
