Scale
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Optional: 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips for added texture
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan with butter or non-stick spray.
- In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat the softened butter with sugar until creamy, then add eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla extract.
- Mix in the mashed bananas until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
- Fold in chopped walnuts or chocolate chips if desired.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for about 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Remove from oven and let it cool in the pan for 15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Use ripe bananas with brown spots for the sweetest flavor.
- Avoid overmixing to keep the bread fluffy and moist.
- Customize with mix-ins like nuts or chocolate for added indulgence.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze for longer storage.
