Ingredients

  • 4 large russet potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 large yellow onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups shredded Gruyere cheese
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons fresh thyme, chopped
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat. Add sliced onions, thyme, salt, and pepper. Cook until caramelized, about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
