Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb (450g) beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
- 8 oz (225g) egg noodles or rice noodles
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp hoisin sauce or oyster sauce
- 2 tbsp honey or brown sugar
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 2 green onions, sliced
- Sesame seeds for garnish
- Optional: sliced bell peppers, shredded carrots for added crunch
Instructions
- Slice the beef thinly against the grain and marinate in 1 tablespoon soy sauce with a teaspoon of cornstarch for 10 minutes.
- Cook the noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Whisk together soy sauce, hoisin or oyster sauce, honey or brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger in a small bowl. Set aside.
- Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add a little sesame oil, cook the beef until browned and cooked through, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from pan.
- Pour the sauce into the same skillet, bring to a simmer. Add the cooked beef and noodles, tossing to coat. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens and becomes sticky.
- Remove from heat. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds. Optional: add sliced peppers or carrots for extra texture and flavor.
Notes
- Marinating the beef enhances flavor and tenderness.
- Perfectly cook noodles until al dente to avoid mushiness.
- Adjust sweetness by adding more or less honey or sugar.
- For extra flavor, add sliced bell peppers or shredded carrots before serving.
