- 1 prepared pie crust or shortbread cookie crust
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans
- Caramel sauce for drizzle (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking pan with parchment paper or grease lightly.
- Press the pie crust evenly into the prepared pan.
- In a mixing bowl, combine brown sugar, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
- Fold in chopped pecans and spread the mixture over the crust.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden and set.
- Allow to cool, then cut into bars. Drizzle with caramel sauce if desired and serve.
Notes
- You can substitute the pecans with walnuts or almonds.
- For a richer flavor, toast pecans before adding.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
