Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a muffin tin.
- Roll out pie crusts and cut into circles slightly larger than muffin cups.
- In a bowl, toss apples with lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Press pie crust circles into the muffin tin cups.
- Fill each crust with the apple mixture.
- Cut small strips from remaining crust to create lattice tops or cover with crusts.
- Brush edges with beaten egg.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow cooling slightly, then dust with powdered sugar if desired. Serve warm.
