- 1 large head of cabbage
- 1 pound ground beef or turkey
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for sautéing
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Blanch cabbage leaves in boiling water until soft, then drain and set aside.
- In a skillet, sauté chopped onion and garlic in olive oil until translucent.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground meat, cooked rice, sautéed onions, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
- Place a spoonful of filling onto each cabbage leaf and roll up tightly, tucking in the sides.
- Arrange cabbage rolls in a baking dish and top with tomato sauce.
- Bake uncovered for 45 minutes or until cooked through and bubbling.
Notes
- For added flavor, sprinkle with shredded cheese before baking.
- You can substitute ground beef with turkey or a vegetarian protein for different variations.
