Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 tsp ginger, grated
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- 2 green onions, sliced
- Sesame seeds for garnish
- Cooked rice for serving
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes. Whisk until well blended to make the sauce.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat if needed. Add diced onion and cook until translucent.
- Pour the sauce mixture over the cooked beef and onions. Stir thoroughly to coat all the meat. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Divide cooked rice into bowls. Spoon the seasoned Korean beef over the rice. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
Notes
- Leftover beef can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat in microwave or on stovetop until hot before serving.
- Feel free to add a fried egg on top for extra richness.
