Ingredients
Scale
- 6 large croissants, sliced into chunks
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup whole or 2% milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Optional toppings: powdered sugar, whipped cream, fresh berries
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish with butter or non-stick spray. Slice the croissants into bite-sized pieces and layer them evenly in the prepared dish. Sprinkle the chocolate chips or chopped chocolate over the croissant pieces.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined. Pour the custard over the croissant and chocolate layers, pressing gently to soak.
- Let the mixture sit for about 10 minutes to allow the croissants to absorb the custard flavors.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and puffed. The custard should set and the chocolate melted into pockets.
