Ingredients
Scale
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Optional: 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips
Instructions
- Begin by peeling and thoroughly mashing the ripe bananas in a mixing bowl.
- In a separate large bowl, combine melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth.
- Gradually fold the mashed bananas into this mixture.
- Sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture slowly, gently folding until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan. Sprinkle with chopped walnuts or chocolate chips if desired.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the banana bread cool slightly before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Use overripe bananas for maximum sweetness and moisture.
- Avoid overmixing to keep the bread fluffy and moist.
- Adjust the sugar level to your taste for a sweeter or less sweet loaf.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
