Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- Optional: ½ cup chopped nuts for extra crunch
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking dish with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine melted butter and sugar. Mix until blended well.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, mixing just until combined. Do not overmix.
- Fold in chocolate chips (and nuts if using) for extra texture.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs. For fudgier browkies, slightly underbake.
- Let cool in the pan before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature, optionally with ice cream or berries.
Notes
- Use high-quality cocoa powder for a richer chocolate flavor.
- Avoid overmixing to keep the texture chewy and fudgy.
- Adjust baking time based on desired consistency—less time for softer, fudgy browkies.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to one week.
